JOB TITLE: Product Delivery – Project to Record (P2R) - Developer Sr, Application
Job Summary:
Southern Company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Oracle Project Management Specialist to join our Information Technology team. This pivotal role involves maintaining and enhancing our Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with a particular focus on Oracle Projects, including Billing, Subledger Accounting, and the review and testing of Oracle's quarterly patches and weekly Critical Week Bundles (CWB). Additionally, the role includes supporting Fixed Assets within the Oracle ERP framework.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of Oracle financial systems, a proven track record in Oracle Project Management configuration and processes, and knowledge of managing fixed assets in a complex business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, configure, and maintain Oracle Project Billing to support accurate and efficient billing processes.
- Implement Subledger Accounting (SLA) changes within Oracle ERP, ensuring accurate financial transaction recording and reporting.
- Provide support for the Fixed Assets module within Oracle ERP as needed by the user base.
- Review and test Oracle quarterly patching and weekly CWB maintenance tasks ensuring integrity and security of financial data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and IT departments to gather requirements and translate them into effective Project Management configurations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on ERP system configurations, customizations, and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Oracle ERP Project Management space, providing timely support to end-users.
- Stay abreast of the latest Oracle ERP features and industry best practices related to financial systems.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP configuration, including expertise in Oracle Projects with emphasis on Billing, Subledger Accounting, and Fixed Assets.
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle quarterly patching and weekly CWB processes.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, or other database technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various teams within the organization.
- Prior experience with Oracle Cloud ERP is highly desirable.
