Senior Engineering Manager, Software Delivery

Description
The team you’ll lead provides critical, large-scale, and complex services for Apple. You will be responsible for reliably and efficiently deploying and supporting these services. You will work closely with cross-functional partners and customers to ensure we deliver the best-in-class services. You’ll provide direction to your team, help define the roadmap across functional disciplines, and collaborate with key partners to offer robust and reliable services for Software Engineering within Apple. Passion for operational and engineering excellence is required. Additionally, a candidate must also have:

- Proactive, having a can-do attitude, and going above and beyond to solve problems.

- Experience of leading first-level managers.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong technical, communication, and leadership skills to handle key responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Defining and delivering system and tools responsible for reliability and performance of large-scale infra systems.
- Defining and delivering services with worldwide support.
- Advising and encouraging engineering best practices to deliver quality capabilities.
- Defining and growing a diverse and extraordinary engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven record as an engineering manager for at least 5 years of leading a team including DevOps engineers, SRE engineers, or software engineers.
- Ability to lead multiple projects under time constraints to achieve meaningful results.
- Knowledge of distributed systems w.r.t. application, networking, containers, and security.
- Ability to mentor and develop a team, lead with engineering excellence, and maintain a dedication towards meeting customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the development and deployment of software tools supporting internal groups.
- Management experience working with a globally distributed team.
- SRE or DevOps experience managing customer-facing systems.
- Experience with employing a data-driven approach through monitoring, alerting, and data analysis.
- Proficiency and passion to independently learn new technologies and SW frameworks to leverage.
- Ability to work and influence across teams and organizations.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $208,300 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
