Scope of Position:
Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishment by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities include:
- Reads Finished Product Load Tag, Shipper, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Fills requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production co-workers.
- Assembles customer orders and sometimes places orders on pallets or conveys orders to shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Drives forklift to transport items within the plant.
- Loads finished product on trailers.
- Reports any potential safety hazards to supervisor immediately and complies with required health protocols.
- Handles incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments and compliance to customer's requirements.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel.
- Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications or skills required to be successful:
- Less than high school education; one (3) month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
