Job Description
Drives trucks (Dump Truck, Cement Truck (Mixer), Heavy Lift Truck (15 ton), Truck Tractor (Semi), etc.) making deliveries of aggregate, concrete, freight, and miscellaneous products between designated locations as instructed. Maintains report book, receives and delivers various shipping papers, and signs for and obtains signatures for material.
Compensation:
$28.24/hour (non-exempt)
This is a Union position with 1 opening.

Reports to: Site & Aggregate Manager

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Deliver material to designated area as indicated on delivery ticket or related paperwork.
  • Follow instructions from dispatcher on route, location of delivery, product to deliver, time of delivery, and any special requirements concerning the delivery.
  • May be required to operate other vehicles during the day.
  • Shall keep equipment clean and free of build-up of any sort, in body or drum. Equipment will be clean and free of any residue at the end of each working day.
  • At beginning of operation, manipulate hand control levers, buttons, and pedals to start and regulate speed of motor. Observe to see that required air pressure is attained and that panel gauges and lights are functioning. Close air tank valve, check tires using hand tool provided, check brakes and fifth wheel lock by moving truck and applying pressure on brake pedal, and notify the Supervisor of any malfunctions.
  • Notify the Supervisor of mechanical failure or accident, post flag or flares as required, and complete required accident reports.
  • Report mechanical defects to the Supervisor.
  • Observe and ensure that cargo is properly loaded and secured. Manually secure bin locking devices and load with new, canvas, rope, and blocks as necessary. Observe operation of gauges, tires, lights, and brakes.
  • At beginning of day, check levels of oil, fuel, hydraulic oil, and any other necessary fluids and brings them to proper level. Conduct walk-around inspection of tires and any other possible defects.
  • Perform work with due regard to safety of self and fellow employees, and with proper care and protection of Company property.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualification/Requirements:
  • Must have knowledge of standard procedures and methods required for efficient and normal completion of required tasks.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
Required Work Cards/Certifications:
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License, with CDL class "B' endorsement, and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record.
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
