This is not a local driving position.Why PTI?Competitive hourly wage with plenty of overtimeGenerous travel accommodations, personal hotel rooms, and $60.00 a day cash per diem (no waiting to get reimbursed for expenses)A chance to visit new places and experience what they have to offerGenerous yearly discretionary bonus (combination of .20 cents a mile driven, performance, and years of service)Customized state-of-the-art equipmentAdvancement opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision, after 30 days of employmentCompany-paid life insuranceMatching 401(k)Paid time off and holidaysPosition Summary:This position requires the driver to work on a team to prepare the road for application and direct traffic, as well as operate and maintain the distributor, dump, and sweeper trucks.Duties:Assist with closing and reopening roadways, setting up and taking down cones and signage, flagging traffic, and cleaning the road for the rejuvenating application.Walk to each resident's home or business to pass out fliers informing them of pending roadwork.Speak to residents and business owners to answer questions.Operate and maintain a distributor, dump, or street sweeper (depending on CDL endorsements).Follow all DOT rules and regulationsRecord all drive time and keep accurate records of expensesKeep issued work truck clean and performing. Troubleshoot issues, conduct routine maintenance, fill out maintenance logs, and perform daily inspectionsReport any safety hazards or unsafe conditions, as well as any DOT violations (including but not limited to HOS)Learn how to operate, maintain, and drive all trucks for cross-training purposesAre you qualified?Minimum age 21 for vehicle insurance purposes.Must have a valid CDL license with a current medical card and no more than 4 points and any suspensions of any kind in the past 3 years.Specific equipment experience is a plus but will train the right personFrequent overnight travel across the SE regionPrior road crew construction experience, mechanical aptitude, and customer service skills are a plusRoutine background, alcohol, and drug testingPassing grade on flagger coursePTI, Inc. is a Drug-Free Workplace that provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
