Heavy Equipment Large Truck/Semi Driver (Trucking)
At Reynolds Farm Equipment, the Heavy Equipment Pickup and Delivery Truck Driver prepares equipment for complete accuracy before delivery. Operates vehicles to transport equipment for the dealership and may instruct customers on basic equipment operation procedures. This position assists the sales and service personnel by picking up and delivering equipment with a proper attitude and in a timely manner. The Heavy Equipment Pickup and Delivery Truck Driver supports and helps all service and sales personnel to be as efficient as possible and provides clear communication to customers and staff. The Heavy Equipment Pickup and Delivery Truck Driver must practice confidentiality both in and out of dealership and maintain a positive attitude while working to improve teamwork between all dealership personnel. Most importantly, perform all duties with honesty, integrity, and adherence to the Corporate Values.
Responsibilities:
  • Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick-up new equipment from a John Deere factory in a timely, safely, and accurately manner
  • Supports the sales and service department with equipment delivery as needed
  • Maintains activity records and obtains necessary signatures and receipts
  • Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy
  • Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties
  • May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintain a clean, functional, and organized work area/vehicle and ensure weight requirements are in compliance; operates vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain positive attitude
  • Ensure completion of all tasks provided by the Sales, Service, and Store Manager
  • Need to be an excellent ambassador for the organization
  • Must maintain great attention to detail and documentation/pictures when picking up units from customers
  • Careful and delicate with used units when delivering and/or picking up
  • Class A with airbrakes CDL is required
Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience pulling a gooseneck, tilt, or utility trailer; experience as a semi-truck operator preferred
  • Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment
  • Basic product and mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment and truck/transportation vehicles
  • Able to support moving of equipment, parts, etc. using proper equipment
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality
  • Able to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Demonstrated skills in task-organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-initiating in tasks and procedures
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure constructively and always utilize safe driving habits
  • Ability to relate effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural background
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - comfortable and confident in one-on-one exchanges
  • Ability to handle construction, road rage, and wide loads safely
  • Ability to relate well to subordinates, peers, and superiors
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally, telephonically, and in writing
  • Able to work independently, yet function as a team player
  • Valid driver's license required; Class A with airbrakes CDL is required
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
Qualifications:
Class A with airbrakes CDL is required A preliminary in house driver's road test will be or could be part of the interview process.
