Position Summary

The Manager of Agile Delivery is an experienced leader who oversees a team of Agile Delivery managers/partners. This role involves leveraging expertise in software development, lean agile methods, project coordination, and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of projects and products. This role is responsible for strategic planning, team management, and driving continuous improvement to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Lead and mentor Agile delivery managers/partners and their agile teams.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor team members, promoting professional development.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects using effective agile tools and techniques.
  • Participate in project intake meetings, providing insights on scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Assist in project estimates and resource planning, aiding the project management team in prioritizing.
  • Understand the expertise of the Agile team resources to identify skill gaps and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the quality manager to ensure the delivery team has the necessary resources to execute test plans.
  • Report on the progress of the delivery roadmap to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on the delivery goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Agile Delivery managers/partners, coordinating with teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Act as the escalation point for resolving volatile or high-risk delivery issues.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the development process.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members, subject-matter-experts, and stakeholders.
  • Recognize when to transition between stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and facilitate transition planning.
  • Ensure the team is working towards the appropriate quality standards for the relevant phase.
  • Collaborate with agile delivery teams to find the processes that work for their teams/projects/programs.
  • Guide agile delivery team through supporting the implementation of new processes.
  • Assess teams to identify which tools and techniques should be used to optimize the delivery flow.
  • Manage planning and forecasting of work based on priority and delivery timelines.
  • Understand functional and technical requirements, along with the delivery milestones to drive prioritization of the most important or high value tasks.
  • Lead strategic planning process in complex environment, focusing on long-term delivery and triage plans.
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in managing Agile Delivery teams.
  • 6+ years of experience in a Delivery role for Agile teams or a combination of delivery and scrum master/IT Project Manager roles.
  • 6+ years of experience with Agile Management and/or Project Management Tools (TFS, Azure DevOps, Jira, RTC, Rally, Asana, Monday, Project Plan, MS Project.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile principles and an understanding of the SDLC that can be effectively applied in highly complex, real-world situations.
  • Advanced skills in leading through influence, meeting facilitation, stakeholder communication, delivery management, conflict resolution and process analysis and improvement.
  • The office environment requires the use of standard office equipment and personal computers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 3 years of experience in managing Agile Delivery teams.
  • Delivery Management Certification (ICP-APM, ICP-DAS, etc), first level Scrum Master Certification (PSM I, CSM, etc) and/or Project Management Certification (CAPM, PMP, etc).
  • Prior experience working with Agile-based SDLC projects in multiple roles (Scrum Master, IT Project/Program Manager, Developer, Tester, etc).
  • Continued and recent Agile education, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
  • Continued and recent delivery management education, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc
