Job Summary
As a CDL Class A Delivery Driver with Performance Foodservice, you will play a critical role in delivering food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver food and food-related products to customers.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the tractor trailer and trailer to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload products from the trailer, and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Verify delivery of products with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer.
- Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and/or secured.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license.
- 6+ months commercial driving experience.
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
