Truck Driver 2

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from Customer, Vendor, and off-site Warehouse locations. Drive tractors/trucks in support if inter-plant work, drive tractor trailers as required to support Company / Customer requirements. Assist with other functions in Material Control and Shipping as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform/Log before & after trip inspections for any Mechanical or Safety issues.
• Maneuver company trucks into the loading/unloading position.
• Move material, work in process, finished goods, and large oversized material from location to location as instructed.
• Assist in preparing material for shipment. (Build crates, boxes, etc.)
• Assist in preparing finished shelters for shipment to the customer.
• Load finished shelters onto trucks.
• Properly store material in a designated location following safe stacking practices.
• Adaptability and foresight to deal with unexpected situations. (traffic, weather, etc.).
• Managing paperwork to and from customers as well as maintaining logbooks.
• Plan routes and meet daily schedules as assigned.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Responsible, self-motived with good communication skills
• Prepares Commercial Invoices.
• Prepares Packing Lists using an online program.
• Prepares Bills of Lading
• Acquiring transportation quotes.
• All other duties as assigned.

Other Job Functions

• Document work periods and miles that are driven per DOTregulation
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, or motor vehicle violations immediately.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Commercial Driveris License (CDL) preferred
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driveris License (CDL) required
• Forklift License preferred
• Ability to obtain a forklift license required
• Minimum 3 years of proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Must be responsible, self-motivated, and organized.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Good communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors large fans)
• Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
• Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
