Description POSITION TITLE: Kettle Driver REPORTS TO: 1) Corps Officer 2) Administrative Assistant STATUS: Temporary/Seasonal, Non-Exempt WORK HOURS: Monday through Saturday - some split shifts up to 40 hours a week. Start date: November 11, 2024 End date: December 24, 2024 The Salvation Army's Mission Statement: The Salvation Army is an international movement that is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. POSITION SUMMARY: Deliver kettle stands to locations prior to the start of the bell ringing. Drive bell ringers to and from their scheduled locations daily. Perform other seasonal duties as assigned by Corps Officers. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and pass a MVR check. Pass a criminal background check. Pass The Salvation Army in-house online driver training. Lift up to 30 pounds. Handle confidential information appropriately as required by The Salvation Army and applicable federal and state laws Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with employees, clients, staff, agency representatives, community members, and others. Must be able to work Monday through Saturday. JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Work with the Corps Officer in the formation of the daily schedules as needed. Look over daily kettle schedules as given by the Corps Officer. Gather all supplies needed for paid and volunteer kettle workers at the different locations (kettles, bells, aprons, time cards, etc.). Drive own or assigned TSA vehicle( based on availability) route daily, delivering bell ringers or meeting bell ringers at their assigned location. Remind bell ringers each day of their responsibility to behave appropriately while ringing, stay at their assigned location, and work together with other kettle workers to take breaks and lunch. At the end of each shift, pick up the kettle and worker (if needed) and make sure the kettle stand is in its assigned location for the night. Report any issues immediately to the Corps Officer and Kettle Coordinator. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Corps Officer and Kettle Coordinator. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and reach overhead Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to understand, use and respond to written information Ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to follow directions to locations Working Conditions: Work is performed in outside inclement weather, and there may be some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort with noise, rain, snow, dust, dirt, and similar.
