CDL Driver

Below are some of the objectives, competencies, goals, and areas of responsibility for a CDL driver. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list; your responsibilities are likely to evolve as we move forward.

Qualifications:

• Maintain a valid driver's license and compliance with our fleet and insurance policies
• Good interpersonal skills and be able to achieve objectives and goals
• Minimum of two years prior delivery driving experience is required
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance
• Must have a valid CDL license
• Must be able to safely lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Must be able to drive a stick shift
• Must be able to pass drug test
• Must be able to pass DOT physical

Responsibilities:

• Performing daily inspections on all safety sensitive equipment (delivery vans, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, etc.) to be utilized in preparing and/or delivery of orders as per the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and the Department of Transportation regulations.
• Picking and checking customer orders accurately and efficiently, loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipping and receiving quantities
• Keeping warehouse and work environment clean
• Operating all equipment in a safe and orderly fashion
• Reporting any incident, unsafe condition or injuries immediately
• Some out of town work that will require an overnight stay will be required
• Deliver and unload materials at the job sites
• Load up any materials that are no longer required on-site and bring them back to the warehouse
• Delivering all orders to customers in a prompt, professional, and polite fashion
• Planning route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment
• Maintain ongoing communication with field foreman and warehouse manager
