The Specialty Business Architecture & Strategic Delivery will play a critical role in advancing the transformation of Specialty’s business capabilities and technology. This leader will drive the creation and management of a business capability assessment framework, which will ultimately inform strategic technology roadmaps and play a critical role in operational transformation. In doing so this person will ensure that the partnership and collective execution between Specialty Operations and IT is as effective as possible. Serving as a liaison between IT and Specialty leadership, this person is accountable for improving and optimizing process, structure, issue resolution, decision-making frameworks, and other improvement/optimization efforts identified by Specialty and IT leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as strategic thought leader in support of Specialty Operations, advancing operational transformation
- Collaborate with Specialty leadership and IT to set the strategic direction of Specialty’s business capabilities supported by technical solutions
- Develop and maintain business technology capability assessment for the Specialty division, identifying areas of strength and opportunity and seeking constant refinement and improvement
- Work with leadership to prioritize opportunities according to the division’s objectives and incorporate them into strategic roadmaps
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Product Management to ensure prioritized initiatives align with strategic roadmap and advance meaningful business value
- Improve end to end process of solution delivery from ideation to implementation, including ideation, scoping, prioritizing, solution architecture, business decisions, planning, ongoing maintenance, and improving MVP deliverables to reduce defects upon first release.
- Partner with IT to identify and implement continuous improvement and optimization of agile practices and product engineering.
- Close coordination and collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Product Management, business leaders, Agile office, and PPM.
- Manage Specialty’s Program Management and Investment Delivery function, driving improved delivery processes that create transparency for the leadership team, and ensuring that technology investments are delivering optimal business value
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, with degree in Communication or Business preferred
- 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry with significant experience in IT operations including agile and SAFe implementations
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills, ability to present and influence at the executive level
- Experience leading organization change
- Ability to translate complex subjects into actionable recommendations
- Strong desire for continuous improvement and experience leading process improvement efforts
- People management experience
- Experience developing roadmaps
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of technical concepts
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The base salary range for the Managing Director position is $200k - $300k/year with a 50% bonus potential and 35% LTI.
