Job Title: Release Train Engineer

Client Type: Financial Services
Location: San Antonio, TX - hybrid 4 days on site, 1 day remote
Contract Duration: 12 months (extensions highly likely)
Rate: $60-70/hr.
Summary:
We are looking for three Release Train Engineers to join our client's Property & Casualty group to assist with Business as Usual (BAU) efforts and Property Modernization efforts. This role requires individuals who are experienced in Agile practices, can drive continuous improvement, and are adept at working with both domestic and offshore teams. Candidates should not be strict SAFe evangelists but should be adaptable to different methodologies and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitation and Coordination: Drive continuous improvement across multiple technical and/or non-technical teams to ensure rapid and timely delivery of business value. Ensure cross-team coordination, for 6-8 teams.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach teams, program teams, and other Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindset. Foster a growth mindset and spirit of continuous improvement and learning.
- Impediment Removal: Remove impediments to team or Release Train's progress, whether internal or organizational. Escalate impediments when necessary to facilitate rapid resolution and support efforts to resolve systemic impediments.
- Support for Product Owners and Managers: Educate product owners and product managers, especially in refining and managing the product backlog and decision-making processes.
- Communication and Transparency: Ensure effective communication within and across teams and programs. Schedule and facilitate cross-functional meetings, and ensure progress tools, information radiators, and reports provide transparency on team or program progress and productivity.
- Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management: Perform risk, issue, and dependency management for the teams and/or program. Ensure release management practices align with enterprise standards.
- Technical Guidance: For technology-related efforts, understand and guide teams on practices such as release-when-ready, test-driven development, continuous integration, and product demonstration.
- 2+ years of Release Train Engineer experience.
- Prior experience in Property & Casualty.
- Certifications: Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer, Certified SAFe Program Consultant, or Certified SAFe Advanced Scrum Master
- Offshore Team Experience: Strong preference for candidates with prior experience working with offshore teams.
