Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional "DSP" (Non-CDL DOT Driver) provides support and assistance to adults with developmental disabilities; helps in the development of the individual's independent living skills; develops and implements energetic leisure and recreational activities for the individuals, transports individuals throughout the community, maintains documentation and contact with the Nurse, House Manager, Assistant Residential Director or Residential Program Director, as appropriate. Paid training is provided for MANDT, CPR/FA, BBA, and more.This opportunity will be specifically required to drive our larger passenger transport motor vehicle and maintain the Non-CLD DOT requirements of a physical as required.This opportunity reports to the Day Program Director and the Day Program Supervisor. Job Duties include: Transporting individuals within the community, specifically able to drive our large passenger transport motor vehiclesCoordinating & participating in recreational activitiesMaintaining/cleaning the residence, preparing meals, & laundryManaging overall health including medications & medical appointmentsDocumenting your work as progress notes in an electronic records systemOther duties as assignedThe following are required to be considered for employment:COVID-19 VaccineValid Driver's License with no restrictionsMotor Vehicle Record with 2 or less points, with no driving restrictions or DUI violations in the last 7 years.Ability to lift 50 Lbs. unassistedHigh School Diploma or GED EquivalentComply with Non-CLD DOT requirements of a physicalMaintenance of any required documentation as necessary.Required SkillsDemonstrated ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English with individuals, medical professionals and co-workersDemonstrated ability to use basic computers skills using and electronic record/medication administration system. Demonstrated ability to use math skills to administer medication.Ability to safely handle a motor vehicle and transport others including individuals and staff.Ability to push, pull, and bend up to 50 pounds unassisted.Ability to operate a non-CDL large motor vehicle that transports passengers.
