Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Salida, CO

Weekly Pay Range - $2807 To $3118 Job Title: Registered Nurse - Family Birthing Center Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nurse Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of 2 years; 1 year experience required, 2 years preferred License: Current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado Certifications: - Current BLS certification - Current ACLS certification - PALS, NRP preferred Must-Have: Minimum of an Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program Job Description: - Independently assess and evaluate the health status of labor and neonate patients using objective and subjective data to identify health care problems. - Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare providers, and team members to establish realistic and measurable short and long-term health goals. - Plan and implement interventions including patient education and counseling. - Maintain safe and effective care throughout the episode of care, utilizing standard procedures to stabilize patient conditions and prevent complications. - Evaluate and document each intervention to determine care outcomes and necessary additional interventions. - Serve as a patient advocate. - Provide direct patient care and monitor patient responses during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. - Assist and educate in breastfeeding as necessary. - Promote wellness for mothers during and after pregnancy via continuous education. - Educate mothers on infant care. - Document all events and education in the patient medical record using computers. - Communicate patient conditions verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors. - Assist other Family Birthing Center staff in maintaining skills and learning new procedures and equipment. - Collaborate with nursery nurses in mother/baby couplet care. - Assist physicians with procedures. - Support nurse managers as requested. - Provide assistance with emergencies in other nursing units when possible. - Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all patients in the Family Birthing Center unit. Physical Requirements: - Regularly use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, and hear. - Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. - Occasionally walk or sit; must be able to detect changes in odors by smelling. - Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. - Specific vision requirements include close vision for reading medical records, monitors, and other equipment; color vision for observing patient changes and fluid colors; peripheral vision to observe surroundings while providing patient care; and focus adjustment when moving between patients and other areas.
