Transit Bus Operator
We are seeking individuals to join our team as Transit Bus Operators. No previous CDL experience is required to apply, as we will provide comprehensive training. As a Transit Bus Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our passengers and providing exceptional customer service. Duties include conducting pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections, communicating with dispatch, collecting passenger fare, and adhering to UTA guidelines and procedures. - Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of UTA's paid Bus Operator Training/Certification Program
- One year in a customer service role
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver license with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
- No convictions for driving under the influence in the past 10 years
- Familiarity with Wasatch Front preferred
- Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card (paid by UTA)
- Pass written Class B CDL test with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr during training, $21.44/hr after training with guaranteed pay increases every six months up to $25.69/hr over the next five years
