Description
We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle, ensuring it is properly stocked with necessary supplies
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and medical staff to coordinate transportation schedules
- Complete and maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including mileage logs and patient information
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to management
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations regarding non-emergency medical transportation
- Provide exceptional customer service, treating all patients with dignity and respect
- Pick-up clients at home or other living facility using company provided vehicle . Provides the assistance required to safely board clients and caregivers.
- Transport clients to and from medical appointments and clinics in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and surrounding counties.
- Ensures wheelchairs, stretchers, and passengers are properly secured before starting vehicle.
- Check the vehicle to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
- Other functions may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
- Experience in non-emergency medical transportation or a related field is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in high-stress situations
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and transfer patients, as needed
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR screening, TB screening, and physical.
- Safely operate a wheelchair passenger and stretcher transportation vehicle.
- Must be flexible to be placed on-call for after hours, holidays, and weekend rotation.*
- Must be capable of driving in inclement weather. *

*$17.20 hr - $17.70 hr plus an additional $4.57 hr in benefits.
