Class A CDL Driver

DESCRIPTION:
The Class A CDL Driver's responsibilities include delivery, reporting, service, safety, and maintenance. This position loads, hauls, and delivers products in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This individual must acknowledge the importance of customer service and must keep this ideal in the forefront of each delivery; maintain a professional manner.

• RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides exceptional customer service; maintains a professional demeanor when working with both internal and external customers.
• Maintains knowledge of DOT regulations and maintains logbook; completes other paperwork as required by company policy.
• Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
• Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Secures cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers.
• Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, to load, unload, stack, and transport materials.
• Manually or mechanically loads and unloads materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or by other means.
• Performs maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment.
• Inspects product load for accuracy and safely transports it to the specified destination.
• Hooks trucks to trailers and fastens attachments.
• Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods.
• Inventories and inspects goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
• Submits trip report and log; completes trip report completely and accurately.
• REQUIREMENTS:
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Class "A" CDL with a clean driving record is required; age requirement: must be 21 years of age as required by regulation for interstate transportation.
• Three plus years of truck driving experience is required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Certifications or prior experience using moving machinery, such as forklifts, is required.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.
