POCAAN is hiring a MA /Driver positions for Mobile clinics.
License: Current MA/CNA license and current driver's license without restrictions.
Experience: 1-2 years' experience as a medical assistant/ nursing assistant.
Skills: The candidatemust be able to perform the following:

  • Obtain vital signs; Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respiratory rate, height, and Weight. Also be able to convert weight from pounds to kilograms
  • Must be comfortable with specimen collection and handling, point, point-of-care testing, and use of Electronic Medical Records and accurately document the following: Medical and surgical history, current medicines, and allergies.
  • Candidate should be familiar with appointment scheduling, follow up phone calls to clients, and managing phone calls to the clinic.
  • The candidate must be able to: draw blood, administer vaccinations, intramuscular injections, provide basic wound care at the instruction of the Provider, and excellent customer service
  • A firm understanding of universal precautions and experience using the tools and techniques for protection.
  • A firm understanding of HIV/ AIDS
  • The candidate must be able to drive a passenger van, sprinter van, and small mobile medical van. The candidate will be expected to drive across King County and maintain the fuel, and maintenance requirements of the vehicles.
  • Candidate musthave computer experience: MS word, SharePoint, email, outlook, and app - training available.
  • Clientmust be comfortable with working with vulnerable and marginalized communities: Seniors, immigrants, people living with HIV, formerly incarcerated, LGBTQAI+, homeless or unhoused, and people with substance use disorder.

Background: POCAAN is a community service organization that has been around since 1987. Although it provides service to anyone in need, POCAAN has been centered around health equity, improving access to care and the reduction of stigma for people living with HIV. This work primarily occurs in communities of color and at-risk populations such as the transgender and youth. Also, POCAAN is a multi-service organization that also provides medical care, homeless prevention, at-risk youth care, and services to previously incarcerated, victims of domestic violence, and senior mobile care as well as mobile care in the community.
