Regional hospital in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona has a need for a L&D Travel Nurse. Three 12-hour night shifts per week with guaranteed hours and no cancellations. With a plethora of outdoor activities and only a couple of hours to Flagstaff and Phoenix, this is the perfect opportunity to experience the best of Arizona! Candidates should have ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, at least 3 years of experience, and an active AZ or compact license to apply. Please call Medical Solutions at for more information or to apply Start date: ASAP Orientation: Every Monday Shift & Scheduling: - Nights 6p-6a Days 6a-6p Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule minimum. Some like to work all weekends and others don't like to work them at all. As long as it's covered, it really doesn't matter to me. Floating Requirement: - May float to ED or MS if experienced Required certifications: - ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring Required # of beds - - 7 L&D beds - 2 Triage beds - 10 Postpartum beds - 1-3 births per day - 830 births per year Ratios typically 1:2 Exp or Must have skills - 2 years of experience required - Respiratory Therapist in unit 24/7 - Support staff on unit: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary - Nurse manager occasionally see patients (when needed) - Need experience with: - 3+ years of experience required - C-section experience required - Support staff on unit: OB scrub tech, HUC - Call: one shift per 4 week schedule - OB/Neonatologist not in house - 24/7 pharmacy in house - Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress. - Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia - Clinical background in high risk patients. Since there is NOT an in-house OB, so the nurses need to be very proficient with their assessment skills and be able to handle OB emergencies until the provider arrives. - May float to other units of hospital (usually MedSurg) if needed - Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (they don't always utilize their LDRPs as couplet care beds, but can do so if census is low). Additional helpful info: 1. For Direct: Who else is on their vendor panel; Secondary MSP with ProLink 2. Is your POC the manager or HR: HR POC 3. What will get our candidates interviewed the quickest? Clean files; Good Sizzle Statement; All certs 4. Scale of 1-5 (1= FAST, 5=SLOW), how quickly do the managers call our clinicians? 3 5. Are rates negotiable? No 6. Can you Market a candidate to this facility? Yes 7. Extension Approvals; Most of the time yes a. How far out can we ask? 3-4 weeks for best response b. How many levels of approval do extensions go through? Workforce meetings every Thursday
