Overview:The Driver Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of truck and trailer combinations along with other various class 6 through 8 heavy trucks and equipment to various locations across the US. In this role, the driver will pick up and deliver trucks between manufacturer, customer, trade shows, and dealer locations. The driver will ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies and legal regulations. This position is on call with an intermittent schedule. The Driver Transporter is a customer facing and vendor facing position that represents TEC Equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Responsibilities:- Vehicle Transport: Safely transport Class 6 through Class 8 heavy trucks, trailers, and combinations to designated locations in the US.
- Equipment Handling: Pick up and deliver vehicles between manufacturers, customers, trade shows, and dealer locations.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and transportation regulations. Report any vehicle or equipment issues to your supervisor and assist with basic maintenance if required.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when delivering vehicles to customers, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- On-Call: Operate on an on-call basis with an intermittent schedule.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure efficient and coordinated transportation operations.
- Miscellaneous: May perform additional duties from time to time.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 years operating class 6-8 vehicles
- Experience with Class 6 & 8 Trucks
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Driving experience in the Auto Transport or Towing industry
- CDL Class A
- Ability to lift up 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of driving
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
