The Sr. Director, Technical Delivery Services is a critical role responsible for supporting the development of the Information Technology 's Policy, Procedures, Governance, Resource Management, Training and Communication to support delivery management. This role will manage multiple related teams of managers and professionals responsible for the project delivery process, from the design phase through commissioning and close-out. Provides day to day business operational oversight of financial, budget, contracting and scheduling for 150+ IT projects. Strong stakeholder management experience in working and partnering with Lines of Business to ensure delivery, offering value to the organization, while ensuring successful execution of changes and initiatives across the organization. This role involves ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency in project management practices while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the IT organization. This role supports all lines of business; including Retail/Small Business/Mortgage, Community Banking, Private Bank, Corporate Banking, and Shared Services.

  • Portfolio Management - Provide oversight of the full project portfolio, ensuring accountability through all phases including business impact, tracking, implementation, transitioning to other business lines, and the ROI/value realization; ensures alignment with the business' goals and priorities. Partner with the CISO, CTO and Sr. Directors to allocate appropriate resources.
  • Project Management Strategy - Ensure project are executed utilizing the established project management protocols with ownership and oversight of the portfolio roadmap. Create and set vision for future state. Provide guidance to delivery managers, business analysts, program managers and technical analysts on the application of established standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cross Functional Senior Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with senior leaders across IT and the business lines and influence regarding process gaps or opportunities. Align on measurement approach. Promote alignment of priorities, initiatives and investment to vision and strategic directions. Provide quarterly updates to the board of technology committee.
  • Key Performance Indicators - Monitor, evaluate and maintain KPI's for the PMO so the right projects are done the right way at the right time for maximum benefit.
  • Leading Change - assist the IT organization using best practices. Ensure best practices on methodologies, and that they aligned with industry standards, technology project management standards, and organizational goals. Build training initiatives to create a first in class PMO IT organization. IT representative for the Enterprise Change Management Committee.

Job Requirements :

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, finance or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in delivery management, with a focus on developing and implementing standards, processes, and tools.
  • 10+ years of experience working with PMO tools.
  • 10+ years of experience with coaching and mentoring professionals and professional teams.
  • 10+ of large bank and regulatory experience required.
  • Expert experience on developing and deploying an Enterprise PMO framework is required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certifications in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Prior experience in the financial sector or with organizational mergers and acquisitions.

  • Strong knowledge of technology solutions that streamline business processes.
  • Strong understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management.
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, quality assurance processes, and tollgate review.
  • Strong proficiency with both Agile and Waterfall/SDLC methodologies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple large-complex projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in technical writing to all levels of the organization in a proactive, contextually appropriate manner.
  • Strong ability to deliver presentations of complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to clearly communicate vision, goals, and themes to both business and IT audiences.
  • Strong ability to coordinate and execute cross-functionally with technical managers, business managers, SME's, customers, etc.
  • Ability to communicate needs and schedules, as well as ensure that plans are in place and standards are adhered to.
  • Proven ability to establish a high level of trust and confidence in both the business and IT communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach other team members.
  • Strong ability to influence those not within direct control.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize work by dividing time, attention, and effort between current project workload and ongoing support tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage to a project budget.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
