Vantive: A New Company Built On Our Legacy

Baxter is on a journey to separate our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into a standalone company. Vantive* will build on our nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and home and in-center dialysis to provide best-in-class care to the people we serve. We believe Vantive will not only build our leadership in the kidney care space, it will also offer meaningful work to those who join us.

At Vantive, you will become part of a community of people who are focused, courageous and don't settle for the mediocre. Each of us are driven to help improve patients' lives worldwide. Join us as we revolutionize kidney care and other vital organ support.

*Completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.

We are seeking a strategic technology leader to plan and lead the Kidney business' separation from Baxter. This position is equal parts strategic and tactical and is ideal for business savvy technologists that enjoy planning large-scale deployments (cutovers), leading large cross-functional teams, and solving complex problems. Your expertise in project management, team leadership, and technical implementation will be crucial in driving successful outcomes for Baxter.

This leadership role will be responsible for bringing together senior leaders from Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Technology to develop an integrated plan for transitioning KidneyCo from Baxter. This position requires an adept relationship builder with strong communication skills, as its success will be predicated on the ability to align several large global functions, suppliers, and customers to highly complex technology cutover plans. It will require strong facilitation skills, an incredible attention to detail, and a leader who is comfortable solving business and technology problems.

In addition to planning and leading the technology separation, this role will also maintain people leadership responsibilities that will require recruiting, talent development and mentorship.

What position contributes to program:

  • Bring together senior business and technology leaders to define separation sequence options, socialize options with senior leadership (c-suite), and align efforts of 100+ program team members to ensure strategy is implemented accordingly.
  • Direct a large team of consultants (15+) from Solution Integrator partners in constructing detailed (t-minus) cutover plans, iterating and refining plans through multiple planning and practice (mock) execution phases to identify and address gaps and critical path constraints.
  • Deliver regular updates to all levels of the organization (C-Suite, project team, global manufacturing/supply chain teams, etc.) to maintain transparency and keep the organization informed of deployment plan progress.
  • Create and orchestrate a detailed cutover plan for turning up new systems and effectively enabling TSA exit from Baxter.
  • Define detailed change control process for managing large volume of changes supporting pre-cutover activity and post-go live production support.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to understand environment/platform strategy, program plan (test cycles, go-lives), and align 'mock cutovers' & production deployments to support program needs.
  • Oversee the execution of cutover test runs and validation activities to ensure that all system components are working as expected.
  • Infuse modern and emerging technologies (AI, RPA, etc.) into technology delivery process and define strategies for growing their use across stand-alone Kidney business.

What is expected of you and others at this level:

  • Strong communicator - written & verbal. Comfortable organizing and facilitating workshops, working sessions, and deployment calls. Ability to command a 'room' or 'call' while leading planning and execution.
  • Executive presence - instill confidence in your co-workers, Baxter's executives, and our suppliers/customers in our plan and clearly communicate updates.
  • Attention to detail - Lead planning for deployments and managing deployment activities of go-live process for each phase of the program.
  • Collaborative - Provides leadership in matrix program organization to managers and experienced professional staff.
  • Relationship Builder - Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships at all levels of management. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with leaders and managers across program, in addition to the business stakeholders.
  • Managing internal and external expectations to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Strategic - Gains consensus from various parties involved including outside partners that provide critical resources to the program team.
  • Problem-solving ability - Demonstrates problem-solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or business.
  • 15-20 years of progressive IT leadership experience.
  • Experience with ERP platforms like Oracle Fusion Cloud and/or SAP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large deployments/go-lives (100+ contributing team members & global stakeholder base).
  • Management consulting experience.
  • Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation.
  • Collaborating and Influencing - Negotiates with a genuine give-and-take approach, where parties act as true peers and decisions are shared.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and to ensure that the project aligns with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical and operational issues.
  • Driving Results - Has a passion for achieving excellence in delivery, solving complex problems, and taking ownership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based Integration SaaS solutions. Strong experience in integrating various systems and data sources.
