This is a remote/ rotational position, working three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:
The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.
Operate various crane equipment consisting of cherry pickers, truck cranes, crawler cranes, boom trucks. Types of cranes include, but are not limited to, Manitowoc, Link Belt, Grove and National.
Essential Job Functions:
• Operate various crane equipment consisting of boom trucks, rough terrain cranes, truck cranes, crawler cranes, derricks, and side booms. Types of cranes include, but are not limited to, Manitowoc, Link Belt, Grove, etc.
• Ensure all lifting equipment is inspected and in compliance with OSHA & Hilcorp Policy.
• Develop and coordinate lifts with area authority and foreman.
• Pre-check and inspect all equipment before operation, which includes checking the oil, fuel, general and visual inspection of the entire chassis (depending on the type of each equipment being operated) windshield, all mirrors, blade, tracks, wheel rims, thumping each tire and lug nuts, oil levels within wheel wells, and checking (while in operation) all moving parts such as handles, levers, and steering wheels.
• Check equipment operation log to see when vehicle was last maintained, such as oil change and lube jobs and make pre-operation notations in it pertaining to operating the designated piece of equipment that day.
• Notify foremen of recognized faulty equipment and red tag it so that it will be unsafe to operate, until it is repaired and declared safe to operate by the mechanic and inspected by the foremen.
• Attend training sessions and toolbox equipment/safety meetings required by organization.
• Ensure that crane has daily, monthly, and annual certifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of computerized components in various kinds of machinery.
• Knowledge of the functional operation, purpose, capabilities, and limitations of any piece of equipment qualified to operate.
• Knowledge of safe equipment operations and maintenance of equipment.
• Skills in operating at least one of the following: boom trucks, rough terrain cranes, pedestal cranes, truck cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes, derricks, and side booms.
• Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, procedures, permits, JSA's (Job Safety Analysis), PTSP cards (Pre-Task Safety Plan), safety/warning signs and demonstrate competency, either oral or written, as required.
• Must display sufficient oral communication skills to be able to give and receive emergency instructions, oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
• Ability to read and understand the results and what each gauge signifies on each piece of equipment being operated.
• Ability to read, interpret or use capacity charts, rigging diagrams, common hand signals, grade stakes or other applicable drawings.
• Ability to demonstrate the safe accessories within the range of each piece of equipment operated.
• Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
Physical Demand/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
• Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
• Standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
• Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
• Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
• Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
• Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
• Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications :
• NCCCO certification for Crane Operator.
• Valid Class A CDL and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
• Two (2) year experience operating at least one of the following: boom trucks, rough terrain cranes, pedestal cranes, truck cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes, derricks, and side booms.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hazmat endorsements preferred.
• Three (3) years of lattice boom crane experience.
• Petrochemical, oilfield, or arctic experience.
• Five (5) years' experience in operating various types of cranes under multi-weather conditions.

  • One (1) year experience in or knowledge of the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk and Alpine oilfields.
