Facility: Sky Lakes Medical Center
Location: Klamath Falls, OR, 97601
Shift: Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Overview

seeks experienced Labor and Delivery RNs for a 13-week contract starting on 12/16/2024 . Orientation occurs every two weeks. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients in an acute care setting, adhering to AWHONN guidelines, and supporting a Level 3 Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage laboring patients, including those with high-risk conditions such as preeclampsia, preterm labor, gestational diabetes, and substance use disorders.
• Perform couplet care and titrate drips, including Heparin, Insulin, Oxytocin, Epidurals, and Magnesium Sulfate.
• Utilize EpicCare EMR for charting and Obix for electronic fetal monitoring.
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, neonatologists, family practice residents, CNAs, CTAs, and other medical staff.
• Handle common equipment like vents and nasal bubble CPAP, stabilizing vented infants for transfer to tertiary care centers.

Unit Details

• Beds: 12 L&D, 2 LDRP, 2 triage beds (Antepartum & GYN included).
• OR Suites: 1
• Annual Births: Approximately 800
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major, 1 minor, 1 difficult-to-staff

Certifications Required

• Mandatory: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Preferred: Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring, STABLE, PALS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Must have expertise in couplet care and familiarity with common L&D diagnoses and procedures.
