**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery (L&D)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour nights
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years
**License:** Required
**Certifications:** BLS, NRP, Intro to Fetal Monitoring
**Must-Have:** Ability to circulate in OR, competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care
**Job Description:**
- Circulation in operating rooms for C-Sections is required.
- Perform normal newborn assessments and provide routine baby care.
- Float to Postpartum when required, taking care of both the infant and the mother.
- Comply with unit protocols based on AWHONN guidelines, including nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Titrate drips, including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications.
- Work with a team, ensuring smooth hand-offs and collaboration.
- Charge nurses present on both shifts while two obstetric techs assist per shift.
- Collaborate with on-site medical professionals, including three residents, one supervising physician, and CRNAs present 24/7.
- Use nasal cannula for respiratory needs; telemonitoring required post-C-section using the Obix system.
- Engage in self-scheduling with potential requirements for working every third weekend and one major and one minor holiday during the contract.
- Open to floating to other units when necessary, including providing sitter services.
- Surgical scrubs are provided; adhere to a dress code.
- Orientation involves 2-3 unit-specific shifts.
- Success in this role is supported by teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
