Award-winning Wagner Logistics, a Top 50 Third Party Logistics company providing supply chain services including distribution center management, warehousing, transportation, order fulfilment, product assembly and packaging, is seeking Driver/Hostler, CDL-A with HazMat CDL-A at our customer's production facility at Wagner/Panasonic location at 10200 Edgerton Rd De Soto, Kansas 66018.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities/Duties:
- Transportation of Hazardous Materials:
- Safely transport hazardous materials following all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of hazardous materials being transported.
- Compliance with Safety and Legal Standards:
- Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and road safety.
- Ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and maintain current HazMat certification.
- Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe and operable condition.
- Report and address any vehicle maintenance issues immediately.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Oversee or assist with the proper loading and unloading of materials, including hazardous materials, ensuring they are handled safely and in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure cargo is secured and protected to prevent accidents or spills during transit.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including shipping papers (bill of lading), vehicle inspection reports, and other required documents.
- Ensure proper HazMat documentation is available and accurate during transportation.
- Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond appropriately to accidents or spills involving hazardous materials by following emergency protocols and notifying the proper authorities.
- Carry necessary safety equipment and ensure it is readily accessible in case of an emergency.
- Route Planning and Time Management:
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, considering traffic, road conditions, and legal driving hours.
- Ensure timely deliveries and meet schedules without compromising safety.
- Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Address any customer concerns related to the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Training and Certification:
- Maintain a valid CDL-A license with HazMat endorsement.
- Stay updated on any changes in regulations and undergo continuous training related to hazardous materials transport and safety protocols.
- Vehicle and Cargo Security:
- Ensure the security of the vehicle and cargo, particularly when transporting sensitive or dangerous materials.

- CDL with Class A and Hazmat endorsement and DOT Medical Card is required
- Safe driving record
- Must be skilled backing and hooking yard tractor to trailer
- Dependable with the ability to maintain a good attendance record
- Must be able to comprehend the English language in both written and spoken forms
- Understand written policies/procedures and to follow oral instructions
- Basic math and PC skills required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to stand, sit, squat, crawl, bend, twist, reach and/or kneel for up to 12-hour periods of time and repetitively
- Exposure to varying temperatures: heat, cold, wet, damp, drafty
- Work on concrete and unlevel surfaces
- May be required to climb ladders and stairs
- Work around hazardous materials and may be exposed to carcinogens, toxic, and explosive materials.
- Possible exposure to areas with high noise levels that may require hearing protection
- Use hands and fingers to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights
- Utilize muscles to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds
