Forklift Picker - First Shift!Job DescriptionAs a forklift picker, you will stock, gather, distribute, assemble orders, and load various products of the lumberyard to fulfill customer orders for pickup and/or delivery. You will safely move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, using a sit-down forklift. Responsibilities also include reading customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed; loading and unloading trucks; sorting and placing items on racks according to a predetermined sequence; operating a forklift to move or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to warehouse storage or work area; assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets or shelves or conveying orders to the shipping department. Additionally, you will drive diesel or gasoline-powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials. Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, performing daily lift inspections, safely operating equipment, promptly reporting all accidents/incidents and damaged products, performing daily safety audits of forklifts, and keeping aisles and exits clear are also essential duties.SkillsForklift Operation - 1+ YearOrder Selecting - 6+ MonthsWork EnvironmentIndoors for 99% of work. Using sit-down forklift to pick orders. Working independently to pick orders but collaborating with a team of 5-7 other pickers.
