AGENCY OVERVIEW:

Rhoda Goldman Plaza (RGP) is an assisted living and memory care community, built on a foundation of not-for-profit values and Jewish principles. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Driver provides transportation for the residents of Rhoda Goldman Plaza, facilitating trips to medical appointments, shopping excursions, scenic drives, and special events. Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle, the Driver will monitor the bus's condition, schedule regular maintenance, and maintain documentation for High Patrol inspections. The Driver embodies empathy and warmth, fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere for all residents while upholding the values of Jewish Family and Children's Services and Jewish traditions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Pay Range: $26-28/hr (depending on experience)
  • Employment Type: full-time, non-exempt position with benefits
  • Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive residents to social events, outings, medical appointments and other destinations according to a scheduled itinerary following DMV safety guidelines and traffic signs. Park the bus in designated off-site parking space; picks up the bus from off-site parking space
  • Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles safely and respectfully. Provide exceptional hospitality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Clean and service the vehicle, including fueling and reporting maintenance needs. Address vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records
  • May assist with delivering groceries and packages to residential rooms
  • Utilize communication devices, such as radios, smartphones, and e-mails to coordinate with team members and ensure effective service is provided
  • Complete travel expense reports and review schedule appointments
  • Participate and assist with some activities and outings as needed
  • Report vehicle concerns or other concerns to management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a Class B California Driver License with a passenger endorsement
  • No serious violations and/or multiple driving violations in the past 5 years
  • Must have a current medical clearance on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
  • Five (5) or more years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs. Experience with vehicle emergency repairs, ability to change automobile tires and handle minor on-road maintenance
  • Experience with older adults or Residential Care Facility for the Elderly is preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
