Your Role: Safely Transporting Materials
As a Side Dump Truck Driver at Emery Sapp & Sons, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials to and from job sites using side dump trucks. Your commitment to safety, compliance with regulations, and attention to detail will ensure the smooth operation of our construction projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Operation: Safely operate side dump trucks to transport materials to and from job sites, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
  • Material Transport: Transport construction materials, aggregates, and other materials using side dump trucks, ensuring secure loading and unloading.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT requirements and company policies.
  • Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Cargo Security: Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation, following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Route Compliance: Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries, communicating effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding delivery schedules and any transportation-related issues.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption, adhering to company standards and transportation regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, and any transportation-related issues.
  • Maintenance Reporting: Keep the vehicle clean and organized, promptly reporting any mechanical issues or damages to ensure optimal functioning.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (Class A or B).
  • Clean driving record with no recent accidents or violations.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a CDL Driver, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver large commercial vehicles, specifically side dump trucks, in various weather and road conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions and instructions.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
