Waste Connections is looking to hire a CDL Route Driver to join our team in Vancouver, WA .
Shift is Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
Start time is 5:30 AM and ends when route is complete; generally 9-10 hours/day.
Union starting rate of pay is $30.70/HR .

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solidwaste.Wasteexperience preferred , but not required.
Ability to read an electronic route tablet and service each customer identified on the route or assigned by the dispatcher.
Ability to operate hydraulic lift (from inside the cab) to service900+garbage cartsand dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids,safetyequipment, and tires.
Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Courteousinteraction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.?
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds many times throughout an 8+ hour shift.
Work environment involves exposure tophysicalrisks such as moving mechanical parts. This requires following basicsafetyprecautions.
The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class BCDLwithair brakesendorsement as a minimum.
CleanDrivingRecord.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete DOT pre- and post-trip inspections.
