As a Material Handling Delivery Driver - Haul Truck/Rollback Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of material handling equipment, including forklifts and other heavy machinery, to and from our branch locations. This role requires a high level of safety awareness, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Your mission ? Your primary duty will be to load, transport, and deliver equipment using a haul truck or rollback, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
  • Ensure contents are properly secured on a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
  • Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
  • Assist in mapping driving routes
  • Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
  • Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
  • Perform inspections and maintain service of your vehicle prior to and following each trip (refuel, pre/post-trip checks, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
  • Must comply with all DOT regulations, applicable traffic laws, and company regulations
  • Effectively communicate thoroughly with customers, co-workers and management
  • Loading, unloading, and securing equipment with chains and binders
  • Assist with basic maintenance and cleanliness of the haul truck and rollback.
  • Perform minor maintenance on the truck as needed and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Operational Support: Assist with other duties as needed, including warehouse support, equipment staging, and site preparation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Travel to various job sites; Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use fingers, hands, arms dexterously.
  • Must occasionally lift/ transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Must be able/comfortable with loading, unloading, and securing equipment with chains and binders
  • Comfortable with overtime/weekend transport
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Proven experience operating a haul truck and rollback , preferably in the material handling or equipment transportation industry.
  • Must have valid driver's license, CDL Class A certified and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check as well as physical and drug screening.
  • Basic knowledge of Hydraulics and/or Pneumatic systems
  • 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving/rollback operations preferred
  • Trained in both manual and automatic transmissions
  • Must be able/comfortable with loading, unloading, and securing equipment with chains and binders
  • Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
  • Proficient using GPS, routing systems, map reading and route planning experience
  • High level of composure and good stress management
  • Self-starter who works well independently
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
