Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our efforts in expanding our drug delivery services. The Director will lead market development for new strategic growth offerings involving innovative technology and service models, and will execute activities to position West as a market leader in North America for drug delivery services and integrated solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceuticals and medical devices, with a deep understanding of drug delivery technologies and solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Establish a viable business development strategy to target and qualify new customer opportunities in North America for Drug Packaging and Combination Product Solutions.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations.
3. Lead negotiations and contract development with clients and partners.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and related institutions.
5. Progress the pipeline of opportunities to ensure financial objectives are met.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders across West to progress customer opportunities seamlessly.
7. Understand and communicate emerging needs and trends in drug delivery support services.
8. Provide insight on industry, customer, and competitor trends impacting business strategy.
9. Propose solutions for problems that may impact the implementation of business strategy.
10. Support communications and promotional plans to optimize West's market presence.
11. Represent West at industry events as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's in relevant technical engineering or business/marketing discipline, MBA preferred.

Experience: 15+ years in developing new business opportunities in the Drug Delivery and Combination Product space.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong technical understanding of combination products, medical device qualification, and regulatory requirements.
2. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
3. Ability to operate with significant autonomy and prioritize tasks.
4. Excellent customer and partner relationship management skills.

Travel Requirements:

• Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time, including internationally.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
