We are currently seeking responsible drivers to join our Home Delivered Meals Program. This role involves ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of meals to homebound seniors, as well as reviewing paperwork to ensure accuracy and correspondence with all deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to maintain the proper temperature of meals during transportation
- Proficiency in meal assembly at each delivery stop
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills for face-to-face client services interactions
- Capability to monitor client’s needs effectively
- Familiarity with emergency procedures and protocols
- Assist in loading company vehicle with pack-out and all other items for delivery
- Ensure that the packed load is secure and ready for transport
- Maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles, warehouse, and loading dock spaces; clean racks, throw away trash, sweep, and remove empty boxes, etc.
- Inform the Supervisor or Manager of any discrepancies found on event paperwork

- Supervisors will accompany drivers on routes as necessary to ensure adherence to protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of prior NYC driving experience
- Must hold a valid driver's license, specifically a regular license for a car, a Class D or E license for a van weighing 26,000 lbs. or less, or a commercial license A or B for vehicles weighing 26,001 lbs. or more.
- Applicants who present an out-of-state license upon hiring and are residents of New York State must obtain a New York State license within 30 days of becoming a permanent resident. Staff residing out of state but working in New York State may utilize their out-of-state license, provided it meets the license requirements outlined in this section.
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Must be flexible to workdays, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Driver Medical Certification a plus
- Familiarity with NYC roadways
- Must be able to lift objects to 50 lbs. and stand for at least 8 hours a day
- Demonstrates a commitment to goals, a "can do" attitude and approach to problems, and persistence in the face of adversity
- Exhibits a polite, respectful, and supportive attitude toward clients, home bound seniors, and colleagues, while consistently delivering exceptional performance.
