Certification Details
- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery/PP nurse for a travel contract.
- - Unit: Labor and Deliver
- - Requirements: 2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience
- - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Deliver down to 23 wks, some high risk- Antepartum, HTN , plan to tx out if known cardiac abnormality. Have perinatology support
Job Details
- The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN and CA License.
- - Requirements: 2 years of prior experience in L&D, prefers travel experience
- - C-section experience required: Yes- scrub, recovery, and circulate experience required for L&D
Job Requirements
- - Shifts: 12 hr shifts- 7a, 11a, and 7p
- - Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts in a 4 week period
- - Holidays: 1 Major, 1 Minor. Major RN holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Yrs. Major Tech holidays: Christmas and New Years
Schedule Information
- - # L&D Beds: 10 beds - 2 OR's in L&D
- - # triage beds: 2 beds
- - # Postpartum beds: 18 beds
- - # births per day, per year: 130 births per month
- - FHM System: Obix fetal monitoring
- - Charge Nurse: Yes- shared between L&D and PP
- - Floating: PP-no unless NICU background for feeder/grower, L&D to postpartum. Typically don't work interchangeably
- - Floor specific orientation: 3 Shifts
Unit Specific Information
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certificate;**11/6 Start Date ONLY**
- **Experience needed in the Mother baby/Postpartum units **
- **Required to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (which includes the day before, holiday, and day after)**
