Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Non-CDL Driver who has a passion for quality work and customer satisfaction. Your work will include making deliveries to our stores pulling a 36ft trailer loaded with utility trailers, cargos, and dump trailers. Work also includes using a forklift to stack, load, and unload trailers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely operates company-owned or leased non-CDL vehicles, including trucks, vans, and trailers, adhering to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, checking for safety and maintenance issues, and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
- Loads and unloads trailers and merchandise onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper securing and handling of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Verifies the accuracy of shipments against delivery manifests or invoices, and address any discrepancies with warehouse or logistics personnel as needed.
- Transports trailers, sheds, and related products to designated customer locations, dealerships, or construction sites, following established delivery routes and schedules.
- Provides exceptional customer service during deliveries, including courteous interactions with customers, timely communication of delivery updates, and resolution of any delivery-related issues or concerns.
- Maintains accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery activities, completing required paperwork, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collects payments from customers as required, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company procedures for cash handling and invoicing.
- Complies with all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), securing cargo properly, and operating vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Participates in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance driving skills, knowledge of transportation regulations, and adherence to company policies.
Position Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to PASS a background/drug screen/DOT
- Prior experience with maneuvering trucks with trailers in challenging outdoor environments.
- Forklift experience
- Experience with loading and unloading heavy equipment
