Position Summary
TIC - The Industrial Company is looking for a NCCCO Certified Crane Operator with TCO certs for the Orange County Advanced Power Station Project located in Vidor, TX (near Orange, TX).
Requirements:
  • Must have NCCCO LBC Certs
  • Must have current medical card
  • Must be able to operate a Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 Lintronic in a industrial construction or heavy infrastructure setting
Shift Information:
  • Current schedule is 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM - THIS POSITION IS ON NIGHTS
  • Additional overtime may be required
  • Must be willing to work weekends and days when required
  • Approximate 7 month duration
Additional Information:
  • All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Per diem available for eligible candidates.

Project Info:
The 1.21 GW Orange County Advanced Power Station (OCAPS) is a combined-cycle turbine power plant developed in Texas, US by Entergy Texas, an energy company subsidiary of Entergy. The plant is being build to meet the increasing demand for clean power across southeast texas.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
• Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects.
• Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
• Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection.
• Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
• Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
• Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Qualifications
• Experience as a Tower Crane Operator Certified -NCCO tower - Liebherr 630 EC-H 40 litronic in powerplant/industrial setting is required.
• Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools
Requirements
The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site,
so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor
weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access
required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and
maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across
construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical
