NET Trans Van Drivers Needed in Your Community. You will make a difference transporting clients to appointments and for shopping. Van parked in your driveway to eliminate commute to work. New hires will work the 10am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Opportunities for overtime with guaranteed Sundays off. Now hiring in Greene, Hawkins, Washington & Sullivan counties at this time. Will consider part-time applicants too.
JOB SUMMARY: Employees in this class are under supervision. Responsible for transporting clients to and from various destinations under the Regional Public Transportation program. Must transport using agency provided vehicles, including wheelchair lift-equipped vans, or similar. Must use defensive driving techniques and operate van in a timely and safe manner. Must follow all applicable Agency, State, and Federal regulations. Must attend driver trainings as required. Approximately 95% of employees' time will be van operation. Responsible for providing client assistance on and off van. Responsible for assisting clients with mobility impairments. Frequent stepping, stooping, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling and bending.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations (Agency, State, and Federal) during operation of Agency van. Must follow all safety precautions, including defensive driving safety techniques. Responsible for safety of all passengers.
2. Responsible for utilizing correct passenger assistance techniques during operation of van. Must provide assistance to all clients while entering or exiting van. Must provide passenger assistance to clients with mobility impairment. Must follow correct procedures for transporting clients in wheelchairs, scooters, or similar.
3. Responsible for accurately following instructions from central office, using correct FCC/TDOT radio/communication procedures, advising clients to communicate all schedule changes to the central office, providing service in accordance with Title VI of the Federal Code, and following all Agency policies and procedures.
4. Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate daily schedules, mileage and time records. Must turn in paperwork and revenue in a timely manner.
5. Responsible for performing a daily pre-trip van inspection and reporting any van problems to the maintenance staff as part of the Agency preventive maintenance program. Responsible for keeping van clean, both inside and out.
6. Responsible for presenting a clean and well-groomed appearance. Must conduct one's self in a professional manner.
7. Responsible for treating clients with dignity and respect. Must use concepts of client sensitivity training when dealing with passengers. Responsible for confidentiality of client information and records.
8. Responsible for transporting clients from other routes and counties. Must behave as a member of a team. Must be willing to assist other drivers when needed by the central office.
9. Responsible for the collection of general public fares and following proper money handling procedures.
10. Abides by Agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Agency handbook.

12. Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of this position.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
1. Prior experience in a public transportation system preferred, but not required.
2. Must possess a Class D with Endorsement F driver's license (minimum required).
3. Must pass a pre-hire drug and alcohol test and will be subject to random drug/alcohol testing as required by the FTA/TDOT and other contracts.
4. Must pass a DOT Physical.
5. Must submit a 10 year pre-hire DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) check. Must submit to a DMV report on an annual basis.
6. Must pass a pre-hire functional ability screening.
7. Must submit to a pre-hire criminal background check.
8. Must be over 21 years of age.
