Schimberg Co. is a family-owned distributor of pipe, valves, and fittings, operating in Iowa for over 100 years. We are seeking a Local CDL Driver to deliver piping supplies to job sites, industrial plants, and customer locations in Omaha and surrounding areas. Our drivers are the face of our company, providing exceptional service while making timely deliveries to numerous stops. Deliveries are made with a flatbed semi-truck. This is a full-time position, working Monday - Friday, daytime hours. You'll be home every night! You’ll enjoy staying active, while getting out of your truck as much as you are behind the wheel. Serving on a close knit team- some of your time is spent assisting with warehouse responsibilities including loading and unloading trailers, and pulling or staging orders for delivery.

What you'll do:
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles to safely deliver materials
- Timely delivery of piping supplies with numerous stops
- Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests as necessary
- Maintain log of deliveries, including ticket numbers, mileage, and location of deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service including assisting customers with loading and unloading material when needed
- Perform pre-/post-trip inspections, complete light maintenance on vehicle and report any maintenance needs to management as necessary
- Load and unload flatbed trailers and pickup trucks with forklift
- May require use of an Electronic Log Device (ELD) to track hours of service
- Roughly 25% of time includes warehouse duties: load/unload trucks, pull orders, and prepare materials for shipment
What you’ll need:
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) with manual transmission and air brake endorsement - Class A.
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Record of safe and competent driving. No alcohol-related convictions, at-fault accidents, or more than three traffic violations within the last 5 years.
- A current DOT medical certificate or ability to obtain as condition of hire.
- Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs.
- Ability to lift 50lbs regularly, up to 100lbs occasionally. You will be on your feet, climbing ladders, and lifting/moving material by hand, cart or forklift regularly.
- Previous delivery driver experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts preferred.
