Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Concrete Redi mix Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering ready-mix concrete to various job sites while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining the integrity of the product during transport.
Key Responsibilities:
Concrete Delivery:
  • Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck to deliver concrete to residential, commercial, and industrial job sites.
  • Ensure timely delivery according to schedules provided by dispatch, adapting to changing conditions and requirements.
Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring proper operation of all equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as washing the truck, checking fluid levels, and reporting any necessary repairs to management.
Load Management:
  • Verify load quantities and types before departure to ensure compliance with customer orders.
  • Monitor concrete consistency and temperature during transport, making adjustments as needed to ensure product quality.
Customer Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with customers and site supervisors to confirm delivery details, such as site access, pour locations, and timing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any questions or concerns regarding the delivery process.
Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all safety regulations and best practices for transporting and delivering concrete, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company policies regarding safety and environmental standards.
Documentation:
  • Accurately complete delivery tickets, recording the quantity, time, location, and any special instructions or issues encountered during delivery.
  • Submit delivery documentation to dispatch and management promptly.
Problem-Solving:
  • Quickly assess and resolve issues that may arise during the delivery process, such as equipment malfunctions, traffic delays, or site accessibility challenges.
  • Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience driving heavy trucks, preferably with experience in concrete delivery or a similar industry.
  • Licensing: Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with appropriate endorsements; clean driving record.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of concrete types and specifications.
    • Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate a mixer truck safely.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with customers and team members.
    • Ability to read and interpret delivery tickets and work orders.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Stamina to operate a vehicle for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
  • Capacity to navigate construction sites and tight delivery locations safely.
Work Environment:
  • The role involves driving a concrete mixer truck and working in various environments, including urban and rural job sites.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, as required by delivery schedules.
