This is a union position and will be part of Operating Engineers Local 324.The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:Timely delivery of equipment and basic upkeep of the truckMinor equipment repairsMaintain daily trip logsAccurately complete paperworkIncorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsMust have at least one year of previous experience driving or military service with MOS Code 88MHeavy equipment hauling and tie down experience is a plusGood mechanical skills, previous wrenching experience is highly preferredMust have clean driving record and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Class A certificationKnowledge of DOT lawsGood people skillsLanguage Skills - Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability - Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
