Assistant Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery

Location: Vacaville, CA

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), Varied days, weekends required

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner medical center in Vacaville, CA as an Assistant Nurse Manager for their Labor & Delivery unit. This is a crucial leadership role, where you'll collaborate with the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional care for mothers and newborns in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist in Unit Management: Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the unit's operations, ensuring adherence to standards of care and regulatory requirements.

Patient Care Oversight: Share 24/7 responsibility with the Nurse Manager for ensuring safe and appropriate patient care, promoting a patient-centered approach.

Staff Leadership: Supervise and support the nursing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Foster a culture of teamwork and professional development.

Operational Efficiency: Coordinate and manage daily patient care activities, allocate resources effectively, and interpret policies and procedures to ensure smooth workflow.

Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.

Clinical Expertise: Maintain clinical competence and certifications, assisting with patient care as needed.

Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between staff, physicians, and other departments.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion, or other related leadership experience.

Licensure/Certification:

Current RN license in the State of California.

Current BLS certification.

ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS certification strongly preferred.

Previous experience in Labor & Delivery.
