We are seeking a Head of Delivery to manage their software development/ consulting team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading and managing software and consulting teams, as well as exceptional communication and leadership skills. The Head of Delivery will oversee all aspects of project planning and execution, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the satisfaction of leadership and client expectations. This person will also be responsible for creating a scalable, repeatable methodology and ensuring its use and success through monitoring and quality controls. This role requires strategic and hands-on problem solving.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and align the objectives and strategies with the organization's goals and vision.
  2. Escalation Management: Identify and work with project leads and developers to proactively foresee risks and solve escalations. Urgency, attention to detail, communication, and follow-through on escalation management is key.
  3. Project Governance: Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, policies, and procedures across the organization.
  4. Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of resources to best support project delivery.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, budgets, financials, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs) on all active engagements.
  6. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring appropriate risk management processes are in place.
  7. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards and ensure that projects are delivered to meet or exceed the defined quality criteria.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, clients, and external partners.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Talent Development: Vet and hire candidates to join the team, identify skill gaps, provide coaching and mentoring to delivery team, and promote professional development opportunities.
  11. People Management: Recruit, train, manage, and coach all members of the delivery team, ranging from developers, consultants, analysts, and project managers.

Essential Duties:

  1. Need a hands-on tactical mindset to work with delivery team members directly to solve blockers, issues, and escalations.
  2. Daily and weekly monitoring of team members, projects, and client standards.
  3. Deeply assess all project health on a weekly basis – including but not limited to: scope management, budget, client expectations, testing criteria.
  4. Create and manage internal Project Management cadence to track and manage all facets of all open projects.
  5. Ensure that all projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations.
  6. Conduct project reviews with Leadership of the company, including planned vs actual for project cost, schedule, budget, and milestone progress.
  7. Coordinate project resources, including project managers, technical experts, and other staff, to ensure that project objectives are met.
  8. Develop and implement project management tools and software, including project management software, scheduling tools, and other project-related software.
  9. Create and manage methodology standards and templates.
  10. Analyze project data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and to ensure that project goals and objectives are being met.
  11. Lead project risk management efforts to identify and mitigate project risks and to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  12. Provide guidance and support to project managers and project teams, including training and development, to ensure that projects are managed effectively and efficiently.
  13. Crisis Management, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and getting projects back on track.
  14. Lead project postmortems to document shortcomings and suggest and implement improvements for future projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Eight (8)+ years of experience in a leadership role, including leading and managing teams, setting strategic goals, and overseeing the successful execution of projects.
  2. Software Development Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the software development industry, including an understanding of low code no code systems, regulations, and industry trends, is crucial for effectively managing projects within a software development company.
  3. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effectively communicating with project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership. The ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders' expectations is vital for success in this role.
  4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: The Head of Delivery should possess strong analytical skills to assess project data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. You should be a skilled problem solver, capable of resolving complex issues that arise during project execution.
  5. Attention to detail: Head of Delivery must assess details within delivery to form detailed and complex solutions.
  6. Ability to learn current technologies: The company is using to create solutions for clients.
  7. Experience with Agile software development.
  8. Experience with Process-driven applications.
  9. Experience with the following: Jira, Confluence, Excel, and other Project Management Software Tools.

Education/Certification:

  1. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, business administration, or information technology is required.
  2. Project Management Certification (preferred but not required): Holding a recognized project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), demonstrating a solid understanding of project management principles and best practices.

Benefits:

This is a hybrid role. The compensation range is $142,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year, DOE. We offer an exceptional benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, EAP, HSA, 401(K), PTO, holiday, and sick time.
