The Forklift/Mule Operator supports the sustainability efforts facilitating the movement of incoming and outgoing products through the warehouse & manufacturing area. Has experience in forklift operations. Follows all Safety, GMP, and Food Safety policies and procedures.
• Participating in daily team safety meetings
• Operating a forklift with proficiency
• Operating a forklift within 30 to 60 days of provided training
• Keeping accurate records of transactions being performed on inbound and outbound material
• Identifying contaminants (wood, plastic) in baled materials, sorting as necessary.
• Ensuring a safe work environment throughout the facility by removing debris from warehouse areas
• Assisting team members throughout the warehouse & manufacturing as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year or more of experience operating a forklift to load and unload trailers in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Willing and able to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in refrigerated, noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas.
• Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment.
• Willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy manufacturing environment.
• Willing and able to lift/ pull up to 50 lbs.
• Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) years or more of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse & manufacturing environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing
