Job Description:
Thunderbolt currently provides System Engineering and Test expertise for one of our core customer's Surface Navy platform programs. We are seeking a Agile Release Train engineer to support this complex and rewarding program. This is high visibility position that will present many challenges and give the candidate the ability to problem solve.
Responsibilities include:
The Release Train Engineer will manage a set of Defense programs, including coordinating and running Release Planning, weekly Scrum of Scrums meetings, and Sprint Reviews/Demos. The target program includes a host of engineers supporting multiple teams from our customer and their other teammates. The Scaled Agile implementation runs with a badge-less mentality - where subcontractors are empowered to take leadership roles.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years professional technical experience in System and Subsystem Requirements analysis, development, documentation, and validation of integrated systems, Aerospace/Defense systems, or commercial systems.
  • Education Req: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent coordinator & communicator; able to take ownership of the program schedule and drive team to execute to the plan; ability to identify risks and assist team with generating mitigation plans; work closely with program leadership and capability leads to ensure program commitments are being met; familiarity with Agile Scrum or Kanban and program planning
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current US DOD Secret Secret Clearance or ability to achieve one
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Desired Skills: Scaled Agile™ Certified Release Train Engineer (or equivalent Agile Certification)
Job Location: Team is based in Moorestown, NJ. The Agile RTE is a Remote/Off-Site position. However, expectation is that the Agile RTE would participate in-person for Agile ceremonies such as Release Planning (1-2 days, 3-4 times per year) and Sprint Demos/Reviews, as needed.
