Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic people leader to join our regional leadership team. The team and position are based in Oklahoma City, and relocation is available. In this role, the ideal candidate will be an influencer of a group of regional teams primarily based in OKC, Tulsa, and Ft. Smith, AR, with some contributors and support staff spreading into Texas and Colorado. This role reports into the Senior Director of Client Delivery leading client and team relationships in parts or all of Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Kansas, and Arkansas.

The ideal team member will direct all phases of client programs, from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, implementation, and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts. Ensures the development process is congruent with current market trends, program goals, and client needs. Acts as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance. Develops new business or expands the product line with the client. Analyzes problem/opportunity areas of assigned programs and evaluates options. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations on marketing actions. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to program plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Determines the profitability and viability of new products or program enhancements. Develops strategies and tactics to ensure effective program performance relative to market opportunity, working closely with company functional groups over the entire life cycle. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, marketing, operations, analytics, and administrative areas.

  • Bachelor’s degree. Preferred, but not required: MS or MBA
  • Demonstrated expertise with creating and articulating financial modeling/analysis, forecasting, and budgeting

In your daily responsibilities, you will…

  • Be a leader of teams first: Setting an annual vision and aligning the team around supporting strategies ensures a workplace where our team members will do their best work
  • Be a thought leader: you’ll identify and drive the full lifecycle of contracts throughout your region through diligent business development and by leveraging your existing network
  • Manage a Portfolio of client programs and projects (typically $15-$20M annual revenue without incentives)
  • Practice sound Portfolio Management: Direct all phases of client programs, from inception to completion, including contract creation and execution. Be responsible for the cost, implementation, and performance of programs inside your portfolio.
  • Promote Operational Excellence: Coordinate the preparation of business plans, work statements, and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms and conditions of contracts. Provide forecasts, updates, and results on proposed and active projects.
  • Maintain Client Focus: Act as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance. Take responsibility for contract risk management. Identify, manage, and resolve risks to client satisfaction and contract SLAs to maximize relationships.
  • Serve others in a People-Centric role: Lead, develop, and grow a team of 60+ to support every aspect of our client portfolios (direct team of 2-5 reports). Teams include cross-functional staff consisting of Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Application Development.
  • Demonstrate your proven results in strategic planning, operational excellence, goal development, and business development (able to act as client manager).
  • A developer of talent, comfortable coaching individuals so they can be at their best and inspire their teams to do great work
  • Show abilities in excellent problem solving: Able to focus on both the smaller task and the bigger picture
  • Bring strong communication skills: both in-person and in written presentation with an ability to independently exercise strong judgment, willingness to share your opinion with colleagues, and confidence to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to all levels of the client
  • Be comfortable and capable gathering data and synthesizing it into actionable insights: using tools such as Excel, Salesforce, and financial tools
  • Find freedom and creativity with a high degree of autonomy, ambiguity, and rapid change: an affinity for exploring new ways of working and driving change based on connecting important client feedback and team dynamics to deliver in new ways
  • Read, analyze, and interpret the most complex and sensitive documents, to include technical reports, legal documents, and financial reports that apply to the work. Create technical content and intellectual property, including content for corporate marketing and proposal/contracting team.
