The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting delivering packages and goods to customers in a timely and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently.Key Responsibilities:Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations.Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and care during transit.Yard Management - Maintain yard cleanliness, ensure finished goods, pallets and crates are organized properly.Pick up and/or deliver local supplier shipments when requested with or without use of trailer.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.Plan and navigate routes to avoid hazards and optimize delivery times. Ability to use GPS navigation systems is required.Secure loads using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent damage during transport.Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues.Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo.Follow all state and federal regulations regarding transportation of special loads.Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and report any mechanical issues.Participate in training and safety programs to stay updated on best practices and regulations.Qualifications:Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety practices.Ability to lift and carry heavy packages when necessary.Ability to operate specialized equipment (e.g., flatbeds, lowboys, etc.).High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.
