Transfer Driver - Job Description
- Drive vehicles up to Class B 26' to transfer product from Augusta to across the state of Georgia.
- Load and unload vehicles using electric pallet jack and manually into freezers and warehouses
- Monday Friday, OT and weekends may be required; schedule based on route assignment
- Perform warehousing functions, including product transfers, to ensure safe and accurate food supply inventory
- Maintain communications regarding inventory and/or deliveries with Supervisor
- Vehicle upkeep and maintenance, including PM's and DVIR
- Assist with packing and/or storing of food items, components and/or supplies as required
- Perform required record keeping and other general administrative functions
- Attend and successfully complete required Company-sponsored training with respect to the position
- May have access to confidential information as necessary to perform job functions, and as such, is required to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Other duties as assigned by management
Transfer Driver Requirements:
- Valid Class B Driver's License
- No DUI in last 5 yrs., 0-4 Current Pts
- Good planning skills and attention to detail are required
- Basic computer skills are necessary in order to utilize a tablet to record activity and general vehicle information
- Physical activity to include pallet jack operation and loading and unloading of trucks is required
- Must have current DOT medical card (or are able to pass the DOT medical exam) as you will be operating a CMV straight truck
- Must successfully pass Level II criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to pass required screening in Clearinghouse
- Prior route/delivery/distribution experience required
