Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Carmichael, CA

**Must-Have:** Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
**Job Description:**
- Work in the Family Birthing Center handling all aspects of delivery.
- Assist in C-sections with two RNs in the OR, one for the mother and one for the baby, both RNs circulate.
- Maintain patient ratios: 1:2 for L&D, 1:1 for delivery, and 1:4 for Mother/Baby couplets.
- Utilize the Cerner EMR system effectively.
- Charge Nurse available; generally does not take patients but provides break relief.
- Collaborate with nurse aides as dictated by census and staffing needs.
- Work with the Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house.
- Shifts start at 6:45 with bedside report; self-scheduling is used but finalized by the manager.
- Participate in a floor-specific orientation for 1-2 days with a preceptor.
- Handle common diagnoses and types of patients, including term, preterm, some high-risk cases, and antepartum population.
- Hospital is designated as "baby-friendly" with excellent breastfeeding support.
- Required to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's).
- May float to other regional facilities, although mid-shift floating is rare.
- Participate in charting using Cerner and adhere to unit policies and protocols.
- Weekend and holiday rotations as per core staff schedules.
- Participate in modules completion before the start of the assignment, though the time is not billable.
