Job Description

Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation currently seeking to fill the following vacancy within our Health and Wellbeing Services division. Kalwun Health and Wellbeing Service delivers a primary health care service to the people of the Gold Coast & surrounding communities.

About the Role

The Transport Officer will provide quality customer service and be responsible for providing transport of clients of the health service to the clinic and to external appointments when referred by a Kalwun GP. This position is based at our Miami clinic, and working hours are Monday - Friday.

Position Duties

  1. Provide timely transports for patients to appointments
  2. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  3. Provide ad hoc and emergency transport for patients as requested
  4. Maintain a log/record of transports
  5. Provide patients with a respectful and courteous transport service
  6. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of vehicles and reporting any damage
  7. Provide maintenance as requested of the clinic and surrounding areas and be able to competently use lawn equipment
  8. Current Qld Open Class Drivers licence
  9. Proven ability to display a professional courteous manner when dealing with patients, staff, and the general public
  10. Ability to work independently and to demonstrate initiative

Additional Information

  1. This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check and hold a current drivers' license.

It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
